I cannot believe that I am already writing this post….where has the last year gone?!? My baby girl is ONE!!
Ever since Brinley was born (ok, if I am being honest it was before she was born) I have been planning her first birthday party. I knew I wanted something that was fun yet relaxing. No crazy themes or princess tutus….not my style and not Brin’s either. So when I came across the idea of a Country Fair theme I loved it right away and the wheels started turning.
I had hoped that we would be in a new house by this time so that we could have everyone over, hang out on the back porch and let the kids play in the yard, but unfortunately that wasn’t going to happen. We decided to build a house so our timeline got moved back a little. The second best option was Nash Farm in Grapevine. It is this adorable little farm in the middle of the city that feels like you are a million miles away from the noise and craziness….I love it!
Once I got the venue set up I went into crafting mode:
Burlap Banner and cake topper |
The bandanas were used to wrap up the goodie bags for the kids |
Cupcakes in a jar as a “goodie bag” for the adults |
Rag Garland that will go in Brin’s new bedroom once we move |
Popcorn bar |
Mason jar glasses for tea and lemonade |
My wonderful husband took on the task of coming up with yard games for the kids. He started by making a corn hole (bean bag toss) set. He even stained it to look like the Texas flag. I LOVE how they turned out!
It was a great day and a perfect first birthday for our little girl! I could not have asked for a better day!
And of course I have to share the photos I took for her cake smash session. Thank you for my bff Amanda at Amanda Dorris Photography for letting me use her studio for the day. And for those of you who know Brin, please take note of the flowers in her hair….she FINALLY let me put a headband on her. I guess putting cake in front of her was a good enough distraction.
happy 1st birthday Brinley Mae!
