A lot of what I remember about High School involves reading books that I really didn’t like or understand. There may have been quite a few Cliff’s Notes in my past 🙂 But one book stands out in my mind as being one that I really truly enjoyed and that was The Great Gatsby! I loved that book and read it again when I was older just for fun. There was something about it was captivating. Of course there were movie adaptations that I watched as well…but the book always stood out in my mind as something really unique. SO when the 1920’s/Gatsby trend starting showing up in fashion and wedding trends I was even more excited, and inspired.
This past summer I hosted a wedding workshop for a couple of photographers. We spent the morning learning about wedding photography and everything that comes with running a wedding photography business. I was able to combine my love for teaching with my love of wedding photography…. it was a dream! Once the “classroom” portion was done we moved over to the stunning Milestone Mansion in Denton,TX for an amazing styled photo shoot….complete with a 1920’s/Gatsby feel to it. Our models were amazing (the “groom” even got teary eyed looking at his “bride”…sigh), the styling was perfect and the location was a dream. It all come together perfectly and here are the results:
BUT we weren’t done there – I also arranged for the couple to model for a styled engagement shoot as well. Keeping with the 1920’s theme we had a vintage picnic set-up for the couple along with a romantic stroll along the dock.
The whole day was amazing and I am so thankful to everyone that helped bring my visions to life:
