This week on the blog we have a special guest post from Angela with The Thrifty Pineapple. I met Angela through the Side by Style website where she is a personal stylist. We worked together to create some fun summer photos for her blog (check out her 4th of July post here) and she styled my senior model shoot which I will post about in a few weeks. She has a great eye for fashion and is just an all around around awesome person! Let’s welcome Angela as she shares some of her favorite summer trends with us today!
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
It’s summer and if you haven’t noticed, there are few recurring themes in this year’s trends. They aren’t the usual floral, striped or tribal prints that show up every year. They are little quirkier and where they came from… I have no idea but I’m not complaining. Below I have listed the top 3 quirky patterns for summer 2015 and ways I like to style them.
- Flamingo – I love the flamingo trend and it is quite possibly my favorite of them all. Thoes flamingos are just so darn cute. I like to rock them with a bold printed dress or shirt or as a statement clutch.
- Pineapple – Did you know the pineapple is actually the symbol of hospitality. Personally I like to keep it subtle with my pineapples. I have several pineapple pieces so I like to layer them without making it too obvious for instance, a pineapple bracelet and pineapple sandals.
- Watermelon – Nothing screams summer like watermelons, so why not incorporate them in your wardrobe. Whether you have a bold statement piece or simply pair green shorts with a salmon shirt, you will still be on trend.
Some other miscellaneous characters you might see are elephants, snails, lobsters, lemons, the list is endless. I think there is no better time for a quirky oversized print than summer. Fashion is all about having fun and mixing colors and prints to showcase who you are! Don’t be afraid to hop on this trend and have fun with it!
Thank you for letting me take over for a day! I hope to see you again soon!
