Every little girl dreams of designing the most perfect wedding. She envisions the dress, the setting, her bouquet, all the little details that make up the special day. Typically, you only have one instance to express your creativity, to make the memories last a life time. When you are in the wedding industry, however, the skies the limit.
Kendra Swalls, (Paisley Layne Photography), Elizabeth Ellenbecker (Simply E3 Photography), and Jennifer Hopkins (Classic Vault Rentals), along with other vendors in the DFW Metroplex, worked together to create A Romantic Southern Plantation Wedding.
The Milestone Mansion in Aubrey, Tx is situated amongst beautiful mature trees, rolling green hills, and a ¼ mile long driveway that leads to a pure white mansion that would make Scarlet O’Hare blush. The front has two story tall pillars and a bank of windows that create perfect framing opportunity for the bride and groom.
Once inside, natural light floods the crisp clean hallways. A curved staircase, hard wood floors and wainscoting are among the details that create the illusion of stepping back in time while offering modern amenities to ensure the upmost comfort of the wedding party and guests.
The bride was dressed in a Berta gown from the Bridal Boutique in Lewisville, TX. The all lace sheath wedding gown had simple cap sleeves, a plunging neckline and open back. Pearls were adored throughout and a court train floated elegantly across the floor.
Stephanie Nelson Makeup & Hair added the finishing touch to the bride’s look creating a vintage eye and subtle pink lips. Her shoulder length hair was swept up into a low chignon while loose curls framed her face.
The groom wore a Calvin Klein Shaw Tuxedo from Men’s Warehouse. Narrow lapels, suspenders and a bow tie gave a modern take on a classic style.
The bride and groom had more formal portraits taken in the hallways of the mansion lined by crystal chandeliers.
The reception hall, ceremony space, and front foyer, surrounded by large open windows, architectural details, and natural light, created endless possibilities for bridal portraits.
After a few portraits indoors, we took the couple outside to take advantage of the beautiful grounds.
An old oak tree toward the front of the property held a rope swing affixed with lace, ribbon, and flowers. A floral crown designed by Catherine Flores, made for a majestic scene.
Positioned just to the left of the mansion, Classic Vintage Vault Rentals created a 1920’s inspired setting for dining, dancing, and toasting the happy couple.
The 3-tiered Naked Cake from The Marrying Cake, was affixed on top of an antique credenzas, accented with flowers, candy, and pink and green macaroons.
Purposefully mismatched fine china spread across the table while white roses and green hydrangeas, replicated from the brides bouquet, created lovely centerpieces.
A vintage sette and chair were reupholstered in a fun watermelon pink fabric to add a bit of modern elegance to the scene. Birdcages, a steamer trunk, and an old camera were among the décor to bring the couple to days of yesteryear.
As the sun started to lower, the light filtering a warm glow, we grabbed a few last shots of our couple before they departed on the future ahead. It was a beautiful day, a lot of hard work, and a very rewarding experience.
Thank you all to the countless individuals and business who helped us create a wedding of our dreams.
