I have kind of a love/hate relationship with styled shoots. One one had I LOVE doing them because it’s a chance for me to be creative, shoot just for fun and step outside my comfort zone with things like lighting and angles. It’s also a great way to network with other industry professionals and make connections.

The downside is that typically you are working with other photographers and the struggle to get YOUR shot can be really frustrating. To be honest, I swore off styled shoots for a while because the idea of competing with someone else for the perfect shot just didn’t feel worthwhile.

BUT, when all the stars align and the RIGHT shoot comes together, it can be pretty freakin amazing, and that’s what happened with this shoot. Our venue was the artfully designed Ostreum in Ft Worth. When your owner is an artist at heart, you get nothing but stunning beauty in a venue – and can we just take a moment to admire the hallway of lights!!!
