This week’s True Beauty “Session in the Spotlight” is Sabrina. She is a mom to two little boys and an amazing woman. She is not only beautiful on the outside, but she is one of those women that as soon as you meet her you immediately want to be friends with her. Her inner beauty shines through! We had such a great time during her session and I am so excited to share her story and beautiful images with you.

Meet Sabrina ~ She is a stay at home mom to two adorable little boys, Peyton (2 1/2) and Kyler (7 months). Being a stay at home mom is such a difficult job and it usually means that you end up at the bottom of the list of people to take care of. This session was all about giving Sabrina some “me time” and helping her to look and feel her best.

Her story ~ “As I child of the military and divorce, I moved a lot. The combination of constantly moving and being the only asian in most settings made me very insecure as a child. In fact, I hated being asian (I’m half white and half Korean, but looked very asian as a child). It actually used to make me cry. It wasn’t until I was maybe a sophomore in high school that I actually felt comfortable being multicultural. Once I graduated high school, I became a flight attendant and moved to California and traveled the coast. There I found lots of diversity and I then moved to Dallas/Fort Worth area and found myself. Now as an adult, I find confidence in my heritage and embrace all aspects of it. I want to raise my children to be proud and to embrace those who are different.”

What does beauty mean to you? ~ “This sounds so cliche, but beauty to me is more in the type of person someone is vs their superficial exterior. I’m a yoga pant, messy hair in a bun, find the cleanest shirt I have and run out the door kind of woman. Beauty comes when I’m parked and arrive somewhere early and have an extra minute to put on the mascara that stays in my cup holder. There was once a time that my heels weren’t covered in dust and I spent more than a minute to apply makeup. But right my beauty comes from being a mom“

What makes you feel beautiful? ~ “I love having my hair curled, makeup on and having something beautiful on that just fits and flatters my figure. Also, a very good perfume! I honestly could feel perfect with a tube of mascara and the best perfume.”

How did your session with Paisley Layne Photography make you feel? ~ It made me feel so beautiful, confident and happy. I’ve never been made up before. Even on my wedding day, I did my own makeup. I also tried a different look which isn’t something I don’t usually feel comfortable doing and it was so much fun!”

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet Sabrina. I admire her beauty and strength as a woman and I hope she takes the time to do something for herself every once in a while.
