As some of you may know, my formal education isn’t in photography. I went to school for elementary education and have spent 14 years teaching in an elementary school.

Teaching is something that I really love.

So anytime I get to combine my love for teaching, with my passion for photography, I get really excited.

A few weeks ago I hosted a photography workshop at my studio based around Senior Portrait Photography. It was a small group with just 4 of us, but we had a great time learning and sharing ideas with each other.

As part of the workshop, I had a senior model lined up so that we could build our portfolios.

She and her mom joined us for the styled shoot portion of the day. Even with a no-show hair & make-up artist, and a quick scramble to find a new one…we had a great time.

*Kendra Swalls is the photographer behind Paisley Layne Photography, and is a boutique portrait and wedding photographer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She specializes in, beauty, senior and boudoir portraits as well as wedding photography.
